Who is
A. Wise?
Born Arlon Wise in Louisiana and now planted on the Florida Gulf Coast, A. Wise has spent close to two decades fusing reggae, rock, and hip-hop into one sound. He's the lead voice of Tribe Zion, the five-piece band that's become a coast fixture — roughly 150 shows a year from Panama City Beach, FL to Orange Beach, AL.
A lifelong emcee, Wise builds the band's sound on a live, genre-blurring foundation: bright pop-reggae that turns darker and more aggressive as a set rolls on, with blues and soul threaded through. The group has weathered real loss — three band members over a three-and-a-half-year stretch — and pours that history into the music rather than away from it.
Their debut full-length, Get Tribal — 13 songs cut largely live-off-the-floor at Enlightened Studios in Fort Walton Beach — captures that stage energy on record. The influences run deep, from Sublime and Bob Marley to Eminem, The Doors, and Rage, and you can hear all of it in the blend.
A. Wise · Tribe Zion — Official Video
A. Wise's pen sits on the axis between confession and confidence. He writes from the seam where light meets darkness — naming the hardships he came up through, the heart he poured into the art until it left him hardened, and the changed man on the other side of it. There's no need to perform toughness; the lived-in version does the work.
Recurring motifs run through the writing: fire and heat as a stand-in for unwavering presence; a refusal of fake-tough posturing; an emcee's craft that asks the listener to feel where the line lands. Across Tribe Zion records and Endustrie collaborations like 6 Figures, the voice stays the same — Gulf Coast roots, hip-hop bones, soul in the seams.
“…keep their memory alive through the music.”— A. Wise, on Tribe Zion's “Writers Never Die” · ArtistPR
